IG-MKP (P | K)

Mono-potassium phosphate

IG-MKP is a highly efficient source of phosphorus and potassium for plants. Suitable for drip irrigation and foliar applications, IG-MKP is recommended for use early in the growing season when phosphorus availability is critical for root system establishment. IG-MKP can be mixed with other fertilizers to meet plant nutrient needs throughout the crop cycle. It is ideal for producing blends and liquid fertilizers and should not be combined with fertilizers containing calcium and magnesium.

Advantages of IG-MKP

  • Fully water soluble.
  • It consists of 100% nutrients.
  • Free of chlorine, sodium, and other elements harmful to plants.
  • Suitable for preparing nutrient solutions.
  • Low pH.
  • The salinity index is low.

IFG tip: Good drip irrigation requires control. Measure the electrical conductivity (EC), pH, and nutrients in the irrigation water and soil solution regularly.

Recommended dosages and application stages

Fertigation

It is recommended to use IG-MKP as a source of phosphorus and potassium, with nitrogen levels kept at a low level. Featuring moderate acidity, MKP is not corrosive to fertilizer pumps or irrigation equipment.

Quantitative fertigation

Each kilogram of IG-MKP in the tank provides 520 grams of P₂O₅ (equivalent to 230 grams of P) and 340 grams of K₂O (equivalent to 280 grams of K).

Foliar Nutrition

Foliar application of IG-MKP is an optional supplement to soil fertilization at growth stages when high levels of phosphorus and potassium are required. An early-season foliar application with IG-MKP promotes the establishment of a healthy root system.

Field crops and vegetables

For most crops, it is recommended to apply a spray concentration of 0.3% on young leaves. On mature leaves and more tolerant crops, the spray concentration may be increased up to 0.5%. On young leaves, a spray concentration of 0.5% IG-MKP is recommended in most crops. On mature leaves and more tolerant crops, a higher concentration (0.5% or more) may be applied.

Fruit trees
Crop Conc. Timing
Citrus 0.2-0.5% 2-3 successive monthly sprays at early fruit development, starting 1 month after fruit-set
Stone fruits 0.3-0.5% 2-4 applications from fruit-set to fruit coloring
Banana 0.5-1% 2-6 applications, along with pesticides
Table grapes 0.5-1.0% 1 application during fruit-set, 1 application during ripening
Wine grapes 1.0% 1 application during fruit-set, 1 application during ripening
1.0% Every 2 weeks, starting when twigs are 10-14 cm long, alternated with a proper fungicide
Olives 1.0-2.0%
  • 1 application in early spring for flower induction and fruit setting
  • 2 applications during fruit development
  • 1 application during sizing and oil filling
